Anstey Book Binding sold to Specialties Graphic Finishers
TORONTO—Anstey Book Binding has been sold to Specialties Graphic Finishers in a deal that closed today. Jay Mandarino and partners Neil Stewart and Doug Laxdal sold all their shares but Stewart will continue on as president of Anstey, as will the 15 full time employees and other part-time staff. Norm Beange, president of Specialties Graphic Finishers, said the deal was attractive to him because Anstey brings specialized services, processes and applications that complement his current business.

Mandarino said he and Stewart bought Anstey in 1994 because its specialized services added value to printing. But the bindery had reached a stage, he said, where it needed someone who could take it to the next level of growth. Being owned by a printer also sometimes hampered its growth because other printers were reluctant to call on it. Now, says Mandarino, Anstey can service all printers.

Anstey Book Binding was founded in Toronto in 1882.
