New York Times shifts printing to Buffalo News from Transcontinental
MONTREAL—It was recently announced that The Buffalo News will be printing The New York Times for the Toronto and southern Ontario area effective immediately.  Transcontinental signed a 10-year contract to print the paper for the same areas in 2005. Sylvain Morissette, vice-president of communications at Transcontinental Printing, confirmed that its contract with the paper had ended but said that the company would not comment on why it would not be continued.

To accommodate the Times contract, The Buffalo News has made more than US$950,000  in upgrades to its press operations according to a press release. It will print 12,000 daily editions of The New York Times and 30,000 Sunday editions of the paper.
